Dance For All was a family dance project run weekly at the Jazz café community centre in Broadwater Farm, Tottenham.
This project provided free dance classes to families in the community and was funded by Harringay council.
Dance For All was committed to enhancing creative opportunities for a community that may not usually have had the access to dance classes. It provided an inclusive environment in which both children and adults could move together and share creative ideas. The projects main objectives were to support family learning and team bonding, provide an opportunity to keep fit and active with friends and neighbours and to explore various styles of dance through teaching and movement games.
The project ended on a high with a performance of some of the dances the participants had learnt over the duration of the project. They were given the chance to shape the final performance and show an audience, made up of friends and family, the new skills they had gained.
It was a fun and fitting end to a successful project, which received very positive feedback from all who took part.
